Back when we had 35 mm film, I used to love darkroom techniques

and appreciated the contrast of black and white photos. There was a certain look to those pictures that I miss, though not the copious amounts of film I went thru..

Since the digital age and various apps, it's expanded a whole new world of creativity, and no wasted film!

When I do set up a shot, I rarely take a picture straight on center. There is more interest when the subject is on one side of the pic or the other, and how you crop the pic helps to balance the composition. Lighting also plays a part, when you can create a feeling with sun and shadows, or mist and rain. Some of my favorite shots are early in the morn or at dusk.

Whatever piques your interest as you walk or drive along, stop for a moment and take a picture...you'll rarely get its like again. Invariably what you like to take pictures of, others will appreciate as well. Most people like shots of the land they live in, and sometimes simple and close to home is the best.
